Uutiset - NewsSometimes you just can, other times.. you cannot18.03.2018 So I have been busy going to these simulated game shooting competitions. I have had one (1) practise session, which is more than I usually have at this time of the year :) And it´s been going well for me! My worse results is 67 %, which is actually a pretty good performance - way better compared to my last year. Yesterday I walked away with a third prize; a nice lantern and almost a kilo of elk meat. I had a decent round, too. The only thing that I really feel I should have / could have done better was the second task. Two sporting clays flying sideways in front of the shooter, one a little higher. I missed all four clays (shot two rounds) --> need to go to a compac shooting grounds as soon as we get rid of the snow. Not that I am in any hurry - the snow makes my life a lot easier in terms of dogs bringing sand into the house! I am not a big fan of winter shooting - the feeling is completely different, when you have to have layers of clothing between your body and the stock. I am also struggling with seeing - it is so hard to see the clay pigeon against snow as it is sent from the launcher - at least this is what I keep telling myself. To be honest, my trap shooting is miserable at the moment :) Today I started off great - the first three tasks with full points. Then there was this task, where the objects moved very slowly - and I was in trouble, only got 4 and 3 points :( Just as you start to think you actually can shoot.. :) :) The last task was a double skeet clay - I was way too slow, and was not even close.. I could do with some skeet practise, too :) Well, the season is just starting, so no worries yet - but a definite need for quality practise!!
