Lisää murheita // More trouble

Seisoja oli siis todella luokaton hartaasti odotetulla kanalintureissulla ja syykin siis selvisi: perineaalityrän uusiutuminen. Mutta ei se siihen jäänyt. Jotta kaikki olisi saatu poissuljettua ja olisi voitu valmistautua toiseen operaatioon, otettiin vielä verikoe. Ja nythän meillä on lisää pohjaa sille, ettei koira ollut ollenkaan oma itsensä / työkuntoinen. Koiran haima-arvot ovat koholla, eli lievä haimatulehdus on tässä tyrän lisäksi vielä hoidettavana. Lähtökohtaisesti haimatulehduksen syy jää mysteeriksi, rasvainen ruoka voi olla altistava tekijä. Se ei voi olla syynä tässä tapauksessa. Eikä koira ole juoppokaan ;)
Tästä eteenpäin koira on kuukauden Litalgin-kuurilla, se on kipulääke vatsan alueen ongelmiin. Kun kuuri on ohi, otetaan uudet verikokeet ja sitten taas pähkäillään, mihin ne antavat aihetta. 

Vakuutusyhtiö (IF) on ollut moitteeton. Maksan seisojasta vuositasolla vakuutusmaksuja (laajin mahdollinen) € 321,18 (sisältää Metsästäjäliiton ja Kennelliiton alennukset).  

Tähän mennessä rahaa on mennyt:

Tuo RC:n koiranruoka on vähärasvaista ja kehitetty nimenomaan suolistosairauksien hoitoon ja toki kalliimpaa, kuin perusraksut. MUTTA. Ostin sen olosuhteiden pakosta toiselta eläinlääkäriasemalta, joka rokotti siitä todella suolaisen hinnan. Esim. Peten koiratarvikkeessa ko.sapuska on hinnoiteltu maltillisemmin € 74,99 (sis.kotiinkuljetus!!) - mahtoiko tässä olla virhe? Aika posketon on hintaero, eikö?

I have bluntly stated that my GSP did not perform at all during our trip to the land of capercaillies & black grouse. As promised, I booked a VET appointment and sure enough, cause for the poor performance was found. The hernia is back. But to make things worse, that´s not all. We were already discussing operation, but wanted to make sure there was nothing else, so the vet took a blood test and the results revealed another problem:  pancreatitis, mild - but still. So the hernia operation had to be postponed and now the dog is on low fat diet and pain killers for a month. We´ll see what happens.

Above I have published the amount of money this all has cost me so far. Luckily the dog is insured, so I have paid 46 % of the total cost, the lab work and the medicine, diet food costs have just been sent to the insurance company, so I don´t know if they will be covered in full. But I´ll let you know. One thing I did find, the veterinary clinics make a ton of profit, if they all price their diet foods like the one I happened to visit (not my regular clinic, to be fair). They charged 47 % (FFS!!) more than a regular pet store would have. Not going back, that´s for sure. But I will be going back to Ortopet - doing an excellent job!
