Handicrafts - starting from knitted mittens to making furniture, lovely knives, and finally - guns to last a lifetime and then some. A very high level of craftsmanship is required to be able to design and manufacture a reliable, accurate and long-lasting gun. Guns build that way will be at your service for decades and should you at some point wish to sell it or trade for another, it will have maintained its value, in case it is a quality gun. Now I have one. Benelli 828U Sport, with the kind co-operation of Benelli, Benelli Suomi, Teuvo Louhisola Oy, I´ll be reporting about our journey together!

So far, the gun has been prefitted, using the technological innovations such as "Progressive Balancing" - these steel weights of 12,5 g each, 4 of which have already been inserted into the stock, and 4 more available, should I wish to add. I am used to having some weight in my gun, so it´ll be interesting to feel the gun on the range. Practising my gun mount already gives me a feeling of ease - with 30" barrels and about 3,6 kg I can fluently, easily mount the gun. 

"Perfect Fitting" is a system, which allows me to align my eye with the barrel - if this does not happen, the gun is not a match. Benelli 828U comes with a possibility to change the drop and the cast of the stock. The pre-fitting has been done by a gunsmith, the real deal needs flying pigeon clays - cannot wait!!

And one more thing about the taylor-made qualities of this gun: the adjustable trigger. You can adjust it by +4mm or by -4mm, compared to the central position. So you can make sure your index finger can comfortably rest on the trigger until you are ready to pull.
I think it´s discussed a lot more with rifles, but is it not at least as important with shotguns, bearing in mind your barrels should continue to move after you have pulled the trigger? Nothing I can say about the current adjustment. Some guns I have had the pleasure of trying have been too stiff, some really, really sensitive - I am yet to figure out what really is my preference. Sensitivity adjustment is I think, where pro gunsmithing is needed.. But now I have a gun, which will accommodate my wish! Cannot wait to get to experience the real thing on the range!

Osaava ihminen tekee näillä osilla pitkälti räätälöidyn asesopivuuden itselleen. Me muut käytämme osaavaa aseseppää!

Tästä se alkaa! Yhteinen taival Benelli 828U Sport -haulikon kanssa. Guerini on myynnissä heti, kun saan siihen tarvittavat osat, jotka aseseppä vaihtaa ja muutenkin huoltaa myyntikuntoon! Minuun saa tarvittaessa yhteyden esim. Facebookin tai Instagramin kautta. Tai suoraan asesepältä. 

Mutta Benelli on nyt kylmäsovitettuna, en malta odottaa ensimmäistä kokeilua ampumaradalla. Aseen ominaisuuksiin kuuluu sen räätälöitävyys sekä painon, tasapainon, sekä pudotuksen ja sivuvääryyden kanssa! Laukaisukoneisto on irroitettava ja liipaisimen etäisyyttä voi säätää välillä +/- 4mm. Sen laukaisuvastuksen kanssa on mentävä asiantuntijan pakeille, mutta katsotaan, jospa tulisin juttuun tehdasasetuksilla! 

Olen nyt tutustunut käyttöohjeisiin ja tehnyt kuivanostoja - tulee halvemmaksi harjoitella nostot kotona ja sitten osata radalla :) Hain monipuolisuutta, ja sitä tuntuu aseessa olevan. 30" piipuilla se nousee sujuvasti poskelle, vaihtosuppareilla varustettuna saan vaikka kesken Riistapolun väljemmät supistajat kiekkorasteille. Yhteensä helposti vaihdettavia suppareita on mukana 5 kpl. Ratakäytön lisäksi 76 mm patruunapesä mahdollistaa monipuolisen metsästyksen - teräshaulikelpoisena Benellin  voi ottaa mukaan sorsajahtiinkin. 

Ja eihän se haittaa, jos ase on vielä kaunis. Se on teollisen muotoilun taidonnäyte - siis ei käsintehtyjä kaiverruksia, mutta tavoitteena pitkä, hedelmällinen yhteistyö, jossa minä vien ja teen fiksuja ratkaisuja - metsällä se on usein olla ampumatta -  ja ase tekee työnsä moitteetta kerta toisensa jälkeen. Joka kelillä; helteellä, pakkasella, sateessa. Pelkistettyä ja yksinkertaista muotoilua, sekä niin kauniit kolmosluokan pähkinäpuiset tukit - lupaan kuivata ja öljytä itse, sekä käyttää säännöllisesti huollossa ammattilaisella. Eikös se takaa muutaman kymmenen vuotta onnellista, yhteistä aikaa rakkaan elämäntavan parissa?
