Over the moon // Kuun tuolla puolen :)

Finally I had the chance to take my new Benelli 828U Super Sport to the shooting ground. As pretty much everything, also the shooting range does not have any open practises, but as a member I can go, provided we obey the restrictions set by the government. Just the two of us, so all good. We got the range open, but for some reason could not get the launcher at the trap shooting range to work, so had to switch over to one of the skeet stations. And folks, I really do not shoot skeet, but for sure, I should..

In any case, we decided to shoot skeet. And so we started with the last station, where the claypigeon flies away from you, launched from behind. It was my first ever shot with this particular gun, so I was anxious. I had to hit!! And I did. No problems, at all. Smooth mount, pull the trigger and the pigeonclay was in pieces!
All of it felt so effortless, I know I´m headed the right way with this one!

Ofcourse, I was at times back to my old self, the auntie, who leans too much forward, is slow, behind the target and has completely forgotten the barrels should keep on moving. I need a firm kick in the ass to get that mood, where I know how it´s done and execute accordingly. And then it´s like automatic. I am a firm believer of earning your results, so quality training is what I need to keep my performance up! This is what´s ahead of me, but I´m enjoying myself all the way. This is because in a long time, I have a gun, which has been fitted, and works for me!! Yes, folks, I feel like I´m over the moon!!

The odd skeet shooter :) - Satunnainen skeettari :)

Ensisiemaus uudella Benelli 828U Sport -haulikolla on nyt otettu. Ja se on voimakas, runsas, muttei makea, pirteä, poreet ovat pitkäikäisiä - siis hyvän shampanjan kaltainen ensivaikutelma. Radan tekniikka ei halunnut olla yhteistyössä tänään, joten trap sai jäädä - hello skeet! Ja ei, en ole ollenkaan skeetin kanssa sinut, menen niin paljon mielummin trap- tai compacradalle, mutta nyt ei ollut vaihtoehtoja. Aloitin kuitenkin trapkiekosta, lähtee B-kopilta ja minä olen heti heittoaukon takana. Eli se vilahtaa ohitseni ja siihen sitten vaan simauttamaan. Olisi ollut inhaa aloittaa yhteinen taival hutiosumalla, muttei tarvitse :) Ase nousi helposti poskelle, sain heti ajatuksen tähtäinkuvasta, vedin liipasimesta ja se oli siinä! Vastoin kaikkia järkeviä tapoja, en ampunut ensin pahviin tietääkseni minne ase vie. Halusin, että se menee minulle luontaisella tavalla ja suoraan kohteeseensa, kun pyrin näkemään kiekon koko ajan. Ja niin se menee. Benelli tekee loput, kun minä olen räväkkä, suoraviivainen, enkä tee mitään turhaa. Usein onnistuu, ja välillä olen takaisin siihen vanhaan - etunoja, hitaus ja kankeus..

Mutta Benellin kanssa tsäänssit on vähintäänkin sen 50/60 - ainakin on helpompaa olla suorempana, ase nousee vaivatta poskelle, laukaisutuntuma on hyvä ja jälki oli tänään aika vakuuttavaa. Tuntuu hyvältä - niinkuin shampanja aina :) Taidan lasillisen ottaa, kun kerran radalla oli siihen verrannollinen kumppani. Benelli 828U Sport. Ihan kuun toisella puolen!! Sillä paremmalla.
